Can you crochet kitchen towels? ›

Dish towels, hand towels, and washcloths are easy to crochet and they are super useful in our bathrooms or kitchens. They also happen to make wonderful gifts for hostesses or housewarming get togethers (not that those are happening in lovely 2020, lol).

What is the best yarn for crochet dishcloths? ›

But if you do some research, you could reasonably get $5.00 for a washcloth – and it's more likely to sell in a set of 2 (or 3 if you crochet faster) for $10.00. One rule in selling is “it's only worth what someone will pay for it”.

What is the standard kitchen towel size? ›

Most all-purpose cotton kitchen towels seem to hover around 20 by 30 inches, give or take. For thicker fabrics, like terry cloth, this is ideal. It's large enough to dry a full draining rack of dishes, and provide protection from hot pots and casseroles when triple-folded.

Choose a crochet hook based on what's recommended on the label of the yarn you use. For worsted weight, which is common for cotton yarns designed for dishcloths or washcloths, a size H/8 or 5mm hook is good. It's also helpful to have a yarn needle to weave in the ends.

What is the best weave structure for dish towels? ›

The best weave structures are those with floats: twills and waffle weaves, spot and lace weaves, supplementary warp and weft weaves, deflected doubleweave. What is the least wasteful crochet stitch? ›

One of the most “yarn saving” stitches is the Solomon Stitch, which is one of my personal favorites, it works up quickly, uses less yarn, and has a super cool pattern.
